flexibility

my thursday mornings start bright and early at 9 am with my 90+ years young gang. (yes i realize that 9 am is not that early for most people, but what can i say!)

usually when i get there the ladies are quite often waiting in their chairs for me.  this morning though as i got to the top of the stairs i heard, "cindy we have a problem".  i must admit that greeting was a little scary, after all that statement could mean a variety of things and not all good!

thankfully it turned out the problem really wasn't a problem at all, we just needed to make a slight adjustment to our seating arrangements.  an easy fix, though this change did upset some of the ladies as they tend to like the status quo.

all turned out well, but i was reminded how we can all get stuck in our routines and disgruntled when we find ourselves having to change that routine. however, as i reminded the ladies this morning, one of the greatest benefits of practicing yoga is the flexibility we gain, not just for our bodies but for our minds.

embrace change!

Change is good!

A lot of my students always sit in the exact same spot in class and get so territorial about it. Sometimes I mess with their heads by making them move places, or change the room around before they get there or even take their mats away for standing poses.

I'm mean :D
